This Cookie Policy explains how RecallStream uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in the RecallStream application. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in or have set a preference — and to recognise you on future visits.

Cookies can be first-party (set directly by RecallStream) or third-party (set by external services we use). They can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored on your device for a defined period).

Similar technologies — such as local storage and session storage — work in a comparable way and are subject to the same rules in this policy.

Strictly necessary: to authenticate you and keep you signed in (we store sign-in tokens in local storage rather than cookies) and to remember your cookie consent choice. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
Functional: to remember your preferences (such as UI theme) so you do not have to re-enter them on every visit. These are not required but improve your experience.
Analytics: to understand how visitors use our website. Our analytics — Plausible Analytics plus our own first-party event beacon — are cookieless and identifier-free: they set no cookies and store no identifier on your device, and collect only aggregate usage statistics. We nevertheless provide an opt-out in the cookie banner.
Marketing: we do not currently run interest-based advertising and do not set marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your opt-in consent first.

RecallStream is designed to minimise cookies. Our analytics is cookieless, and we keep your cookie choice and interface preferences in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies. The table below lists the cookies and local-storage items set by RecallStream and the third-party services we integrate. Names and durations may vary slightly between the marketing site and the signed-in application.

We do not set Google Analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics (Plausible and our own first-party event beacon) are cookieless and store no identifier on your device — there are no analytics cookies or analytics identifiers to list.

Plausible Analytics: a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool used to understand aggregate website usage. It sets no cookies, uses no persistent identifiers, and collects no personal data. You can opt out at any time via the cookie banner (this sets a plausible_ignore flag in your browser's local storage).
Paddle: our Merchant of Record for payments. Paddle sets strictly-necessary cookies on its checkout as part of the payment and fraud-prevention flow. These are required to complete a subscription purchase and cannot be disabled without breaking the checkout. See Paddle's cookie notice.

Cookie banner: when you first visit recallstream.com, you are presented with a cookie consent banner. You can accept all, reject optional, or customise your choices.
In-app settings: signed-in users can opt out of analytics at any time using the analytics opt-out toggle in Settings → Privacy.
Analytics opt-out: use "Reject non-essential" or the Analytics toggle in the banner to opt out of Plausible. This sets a plausible_ignore flag so your visits are excluded from analytics.
Browser and local-storage controls: you can configure your browser to block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or completing checkout.

There is no universally accepted standard for Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals, and we do not currently respond to DNT or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically. We do, however, honour the preferences you set in our cookie banner, and because our analytics is cookieless there is minimal cross-site tracking to signal against.
